Knitwear Wash & Care Instructions

Follow these expert tips to help keep your knitwear looking and feeling as fresh as the day you received it.

WASH GENTLY, FOLLOWING INSTRUCTIONS

When you do need to give your knitwear a refresh, its always better to wash by hand or soak. We try to provide our customers with easy care knitwear (as we know it can be frustrating to dry clean and hand wash), but be sure to wash on a cold gentle cycle if you do opt for machine washing as over spinning and heat will cause shrinkage. If you have the patience for a hand wash your knitwear will thank you, particularly if you add a bit of hair conditioner to bring up that softness.

  • only WASH WHEN YOU NEED TO

Most people over wash their knitwear, meaning the natural fibres get worn down quicker, when normally you can get away with a spot clean when its needed.

  • doN'T hANG

Knitwear stretches and warps when its hung up, as well as the weight on the stitches resulting in the pieces growing, leaving you with lumpy misshapen knits. Always fold to store your knitwear, and never ever hang when wet - lay flat to keep them looking fresh.

  • iNVEST IN A DE-BOBBLER

Any soft natural fibre will bobble naturally. This is a sign of well love and wear. You can remove these surface bobbles with a de-bobbler, the amount the surface sheds and bobbles should stabilise over time, once the loose surface fibres have worked their way out.

MOTH-GUARD

Scented lavender bags can keep the moths away as well as making your knit pieces smell lovely. Keep them in your drawers alongside your knitted pieces, and make sure they are always clean when put away.
